But only 1.8 billion newly planted
This calculation is in an enormous imbalance and our tree future is more than worrying. This imbalance is getting bigger and bigger and our future more and more uncertain.
In addition, millions of hectares are destroyed annually by forest fires, of which only 10% -15% have a natural origin.

We do not want to join in with the whole tree sponsorship associations / organizations. Much more, we want to enter into a partnership with them and support them.
It is important to us that we do not only focus on tree planting in Africa or South America. We can find the current problems on our doorstep. Germany, Austria and Switzerland are also struggling with deforestation. The price of wood is growing steadily and the land required for agriculture is in great demand.
Therefore, it is our need not only to plant new trees in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but also to protect the existing forest in particular.

When do we run out of air?
Trees and all plants that perform photosynthesis have a very important task:
They produce oxygen and release it into the air. It is more than just a matter of concern if too many trees are felled in too short a time - it is more important to protect them.
We humans and most animal species need the oxygen produced by trees to breathe and thus to (survive).
Without the balance of forests we will become extinct
A fully grown tree provides oxygen for the breath of up to 15 people every day. In the process, the trees process the gas CO2, or carbon dioxide. Too much carbon dioxide is harmful to the environment and to people.
So the trees help to make our air clean.
Our protectors
Due to the destruction of forests, 80% of endangered mammal and bird species are threatened because they lack natural habitats. Forests cover 30% of the land area and they store half (50%) of the bound carbon. Thus, they control evaporation and water cycles and thus have an influence on the weather. Without trees and their filtering activity, we would perish from particulate matter.
