The consequences
What are the consequences of child poverty?
Those who experience poverty in their childhood often suffer from it all of their lives.
- Educational poverty: Many children need help with homework. But either the parents don't speak German well enough or they don't care enough about the education of their own children. Without a good school-leaving qualification, children find it difficult to learn a job with which they can later earn money. Mental and social disorders: Children are ashamed of the poor living conditions, withdraw, lose their hope for the future and demands on themselves Developmental disorders: Parents do not spend enough money on healthy food. Due to the lack of a balanced diet, medical care and adequate exercise, children's health suffers in the long term.
